The project involved the redesign of the building’s front entrance to create a more welcoming and contemporary arrival experience, alongside the creation of a dedicated staff breakout area connected directly to a landscaped wildflower meadow. The external works were carefully designed to promote wellbeing and biodiversity, incorporating insect and bird hotels to support local wildlife and provide a calm, restorative environment for staff.
A key element of the scheme was the installation of a 160 kWp solar photovoltaic system, delivering a significant step-change in the building’s operational sustainability. The system is expected to generate approximately 145 MWh of renewable electricity per annum, resulting in an annual saving of circa 28 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – equivalent to planting approximately 1,293 trees.
We acted as Project Manager throughout the works, coordinating design, procurement and delivery to ensure programme certainty, cost control and seamless integration of sustainability measures within a live operational environment.
